I want to give it 4.5 stars but I’ll err on the side of rounding up. A FANTASTIC story that details more of the Winters Saga and has many twists throughout its runtime. First-person for Resident Evil is such a great addition. Between this, and the close cam of the RE2 and 3 remake, it adds the horror elements and makes everything more tense. I thoroughly enjoy what Capcom has chosen to do with this and how they’ve helped it connect to some other games through characters and lore. As a longtime RE fan (got scared into loving them around 2002) I’ve played many on PS2 (would love a remake of Outbreak 1 and File#2) to GameCube (also a remake of Code Veronica) to Wii, and PS4. Just gushing over how the feel is, the right amount of action; in the last half could use a tad bit more horror but the story grabs you as you become invested watching everything Ethan goes through to get his daughter back. 10/10 recommend and can’t wait to see how it culminates in RE9
