Flick starts out bad. I guess Tom Hanks has never been in the US Navy and had no one to advise him. Early on 2 sailors were brought into his mess for fighting the night before for discipline while he was having breakfast. That would never happen in the real Navy. The fleet commander would never even be aware of this. Those sailors would have been written up and then gone to Captains Mast at some future date with some lower level officer.
