Excellent cinema and concept, but weak plot and characters. A type of modern art in film: rather than drawing out universal truths or forming a cohesive story arc, this movie is best appreciated by studying the interaction of the component pieces within it and no more. And to that it end it remains fascinating but too confusing to stick. A movie formed on a paradox can only be understood to a point, and thus it's conclusions are absent or at least tangibly dissatisfying
