I love it. The darkness adds a more realistic theme. I hope the scientists can come up with some of the 'good' tech thought up by the writers. I didn't care for the first two episodes with all the subtitles for Klingon dialogs. It was too quick and hard to read while watching the actors. You could probably start with E3 and not miss much since the flashback will answers your questions over time.
