I have faint memory of Mowgli from my childhood. Therefore, I couldn't draw the difference between the two. Perhaps that is why I was able to appreciate it for what it is. Sure, it "dark". But that is only because it is closer to the truth. There's just one thing that I couldn't understand- how was he able to walk after getting shot by the hunter in the end?
