The good: fairly original aliens (with some elements borrowed from Edge of Tomorrow) and a truly terrifying scene in a remote house.
The bad: Paint-by-numbers premise (unstoppable aliens? Check. Hive mind? Check. Blow up the mother ship and win? Check.) Pacing--if our glaciers were melting at the rate that this story progresses, we'd be in much better shape. And worst of all, no one in this story reacts to their situation in a way that seems even remotely natural, except for the two scenes in which the aliens are attacking and people are panicking. The world is in an existential crisis, and our main characters are entirely focused on their extremely mundane relationship issues. Ninety percent of the series is dimly lit scenes of people looking sad while lugubrious music plays. You know those dreams we all have, where someone is chasing you, and your legs are stuck in mud so you can barely move? That's this series.
