I love this film!!! I've watched it several times. Jack Nicholson reportedly said that this was one of his all-time favorite roles, and I can see why. A dark, moody, provocative film with a heart-wrenching ending. Sean Penn's directing skills are on the same level as his acting skills - extremely high.

I saw this film about 40 years ago and loved it. It's gritty, realistic. And gripping. Kirk Douglas is excellent it. It's my favorite K. D. film!
