Meh, but awesome. Loved it because it's DragonBall, but they really tried to make a thematic movie. Something that was unexpected; not necessarily bad, but different. Some aspects felt a little forced. They successfully created a new Broly with added dimensions to his character..which was cool, BUT it felt rushed (I realize that it was a movie and they had to condense the story to fit, so I'm speaking on the overall finished product and how I felt about it). The dialogue, at times, felt forced as well and kind of cringe-y where they were trying to push more emotion and contemplation...all great things to incorporate, but just felt like it wasn't done well enough..or maybe I'm not used to it coming from DB. Maybe I'm just not used to dub? IDK.
Having said that, it was dope! The animation was on point. Well, more so the 2D and not the CGI. I'm still undecided if they mixed CGI in there to try something new and interesting, OR if it was an attempt to save money and the tired hands from all the drawing. At times it was..new, yet in others, it looked like PS2 Budokai. Either way, it was super sweet to see my favorite character back in the day, Gogeta, get back in action...along with Veku. Ahhh, smells like childhood.
