I’m not surprised as to why this show gains hate, not because I hate it but because everything receives positive and negative feedback, however, I am surprised by how much hate the show has received. Now, I can see why people are crust and irritated with how the show is currently going. I didn’t even take the time to realize how many facts were missing since I don’t often nitpick movies/shows too much. I can’t speak on the hate that is coming from people who feel that Autism is portrayed incorrectly, because I don’t personally know anybody with Autism and have yet to have the chance to.
I personally really enjoy the show. I don’t watch television often since I tend to stick to reading, however, I find this show very entertaining. Although I think some stuff may be a little rushed and out of character, it doesn’t bother me as much as it has some others. I’m able to just fill in the gaps with my own imagination. I have to admit, the writing has been lacking a bit recently, I don’t think it’s a reason to not watch the show. I’m certainly going to continue to watch it and see how things develop. I’m most certainly invested with a few characters- certainly more than others -but to see where things go is definitely a reason why I watch.
Now, I do really love the show. It’s something I gave a chance after asking for an opinion on it by somebody else who watches it. She too loves the show and watches a new episode every weekend. I had spent a little over a week binge watching it and just caught up with it yesterday. I his been recommending the show to others, and I still will continue to do so, but like everything, it’s really personal preference when it comes to television.
I’ve seen many things that I adore gain hate, and as long as it has reasons backing up why, I don’t mind, but the comments that are simply yelling at people not to watch the show are ridiculous.
I have come up with a list as to why somebody would/would not want to watch the show.
1. The writing in season two was a bit lacking, but I can’t say that I don’t still find it entertaining, because I absolutely love the show still. I think with time the writing will either improve, or it won’t. As somebody who loves to write, I can only hope that they do improve and are able to keep it balanced once, and if, they do. I will say, I do like the writing this season, but perhaps that’s because my favorite character is being shown in a new light.
2. I have to give it to the writers, I really do like some of the character development that is shown. [Spoiler] *Although some disagree with my opinion as to why Dr. Marcus Andrews development was well written, I personally found it quite interesting and enjoyable to see how he changed over time and connected, even if just a bit, with Shaun. This also goes with the bit of development we get to see from Morgan Rezneck as well.*
3. Now, I don’t know how accurate the medical terms and operations are, however, the person I had asked opinions is a nurse and she has yet to complain about anything on the show itself, some of the characters she dislikes, yes, but no medical terminology.
All and all, I do recommend the show and if you are debating watching it or not I definitely say give it a shot!
