I thought this movie was incredible! The casting was perfect for every character. The “sidekick” characters were hilarious. Daveed diggs, awkwafina, and Jacob trembley nailed it. Melissa McCarthy is always awesome. Halle Bailey is an incredible Ariel. She captures the animated version’s energy and adds an intellectual curiosity, bringing a new depth to the character, plus her voice is gorgeous and angelic. The added songs were great and fit well into the storyline. I didn’t mind the changes to the story that much because I actually think they made the movie better. Overall an incredibly enjoyable experience!

Laura Marano is a very talented singer, but this movie autotunes her voice way too much. The movie itself is a good bad Christmas movie, and the acting is very good, but there are some problems with the plot. Also, the stepmom isn't just the usual mean. In this movie, she's downright verbally abusive. But overall, good movie.
