I recently read the book and it was beautiful and inspiring. I know that movies don’t normally live up to books but this was a disappointment. From the moment it began it felt like there was no emotion, the colour was just faded and it was jumping back and forth in timelines without making a clear cut of when it was or where. The movie fails to spend enough time on important part such as “signing the trail register” and just skips over everything, spending little time and now letting the emotion flow. Random character appear without explaining that they knew of the main character from the registry. Cheryl’s body is meant to change over time from the walking she looks the same the whole way through. She doesn’t look ragged and worn . She looks like she’s stepped fresh out of a shower ,with clean close and a fresh set of makeup. Hard to feel a connection between her and the mother. Read the book it’s wayyyy better 😛. Just my opinion
