I thoroughly enjoyed this engrossing film. Judy Densch brings conviction to her role as the older Joan, a woman who was drawn to make a world-changing decision when she was a young physicist. Strong acting and story that doesn't bleed onscreen but provokes. Highly recommended.

Sickest gothic horror movie ever. It's so over-the-top, it's almost funny. Hard to believe it wasn't universally panned, but back in the 80s (when the film was released) the star--Jeremy Irons--was a hot number. In this, he chews the scenery. Playing a pair of identical twin gynecologists with every major psych disorder in the DSM, the character(s) Irons plays is the embodiment of misogyny. Cronenberg directed.

According to this series, the nature/nuture debate is completely over. Nature won! Your DNA can be "matched" to find your perfect mate! This is the series' premise. So, everyone gets along with their parents and sibs, right? Not the last time I checked. But this is the future, right? Not according to the details, like hoards of papparazzi waiting with old-timey cameras? Any series that starts on a faulty premise has too many strikes against it at the get-go. I wouldn't bet on a Season 2 happening, but then...
