First off, for those who’ve already concluded that if you didn’t love this film it must be because you’re white is not only spreading further racism and divide, but is untrue. The film wasn’t good, period. Antebellum looked like a good idea that stopped at just that. The characters were flat, the plot predictable, and the whole experience left the viewer scratching their heads. I also agree with those questioning Jordan Peele and his purpose here. Yes, Get Out and Us were pretty damn good films so I’m wondering, did he just get lazy on this one or is he completely “white-phobic?” I hope I’m wrong and the man has more substance, because from the looks of it, his last three films once making him look like a true talent, current and fresh; may now be outing him as the biggest racist Hollywood has ever seen. Shame.
