Very restrained and inoffensive. Think "My first possession movie". Zero character development. Zero. We get to know exactly none of the characters. I had such high hopes for this one but it was superficial and tame.

A lot of fun. Wesley Snipes as a mad taxidermist astronaut with a grudge against the aliens. A bunch of not terribly obnoxious...for a change...but painfully pretty kids. Alien upgrades. Government bad guys. Kind of Escape to Witch Mountain for grownups at the end. I enjoyed every second. Just a fun alien movie with nods to all the greats.

With the cast I thought it would be laugh until your face hurts funny. It had a certain wry, dry comedy but it was weirdly somber and kind of depressing. Not unenjoyable but not fun, either. Strange film.
