I listened to Adm Stravridis' interview on the Terry Gross show Fresh Air. Based on that, the book seems to be mainly a "name dropping" exercise with segments on Adm Rickover, a female admiral who advocated for computerization etc. Since the book supposedly is about character in leaders, Ms Gross asked him how that related to the current CIC. She pressed him on this point and he squirmed, wiggled and basically evaded a realistic appraisal by uttering a bunch of spin. Although I haven't read the book, it appears that the admiral is just a propaganda agent and that thus the book contains little of value.
