I liked it a lot especially their first calling in season one. I was hooked so I finished the show. But it always gave me LOST vibes. It felt like it was a knock off of LOST, especially the last two episodes.
Also, there was a lot that didn’t make sense, didn’t add up or ever get explained. Even the pacing of the episodes sometimes was off but the part that got me was the atrocious human rights violations in last season’s episodes that weren’t portrayed to look that bad. Like, whyI did the writers make it look so sugar coated? In this stories where they lock people up in a prison without food for an indefinite amount of time but without any help from outside organizations or civilians trying to help? No characters even protested to help save the prisoners in the show and that made that part very unrealistic in the show. It’s based in modern times, of course that would never fly in real life. But really all in all I feel like the writers ripped off the LOST show. For example the time travel plane idea, or having to go back on the plane and then a smoke monster. Gosh, way too similar to LOST. Well there’s a lot more than just that though that felt like a rip off of LOST. So anyway, it was still good, but I’ll always think it is like a wanna be LOST tv show. But I still really liked the show and the reason I’m writing this is because the ending was amazing in the sense that it satisfied my hopes for a good ending. Especially when they all reunited in a satisfying way, though some a little bittersweet. I loved how someone happened to get back together with their true love outside of the airport, if you know what I’m talking about. So the ending was what made me feel I didn’t waste my time. But nothing will top off LOST and that show’s concepts that they came up with, like the time travel stuff and the characters dynamics. Well anyway again, back to Manifest, I liked their callings and the suspense but especially bc they had resolving reunions at the end.
