While the positive promotion of enabling young males to grow outside the man box is laudable, once again the message has to come from a man! Many women have reasoned as such for their young sons-“there is no shame in your emotions”. Other women have written about the same topic, I’ll just toss out Virginia Satir so I can’t be told I have no reference. As the mother of two emotionally sound young adult males, I know from what I speak. As mothers we are not in a vacuum. Alas, once again, when a message needs legitimization, call in the expert=man. This morning program needs fine tuning. I’ll be by again to indicate obvious issues -as the mansplaining male emotions certainly qualifies.
