I haven’t seen such a beautiful, powerful and moving film like this in a long time. Mr. Washington swung for the fence and hit it out of the park on this one. Beautifully directed and acted; writing so intimate and real I felt like I was eavesdropping at times and shouldn’t have been there. Stunning soundtrack, so many emotions while watching reflected back in the power of the music, especially the glorious music heard over the end credits that uplifted us from the heartbreak and set our souls free. Ms. Canedy said it best in her own NY Times piece on the release of the film:
“I said we hoped to remind people of the power of everlasting love, of the patriotism that unites us and hopefully of the resilience that is possible after unspeakable loss.”
Well, you definitely fulfilled that hope. Well done. Thank you for its gifts.
