I love the original Mary Poppins as a child, and still love it as an adult. Love Julie Andrews as well. & I also love Emily Blunt, one of my favourite actresses these days. These are probably of the reasons why I really wanted to see the Mary Poppins Returns before 2018 ended. Blunt is not Andrews, but i reckon that is exacly why this movie works! Blunt successfully created her own version of Mary Poppins, and it was brilliant! Both Blunt and the movie didn’t try to compete with the original version. No one in the movie uttered the famous supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, but i do think it showed in different forms. I ain’t a movie critic, but no matter what the critics would say, the mary poppins returns put a huge smile on my face and gave me that warm supercalifragilisticexpialidocious feeling when i left the theater - the same way the original one did, years and years ago.
