When I watched the 2001 Fruits Basket for the first time, I genuinely loved it so much. I used to treat each of the characters as my friends. I felt a weird familiarity with each of them. I was so pumped when they announced the readaptation. Now when I watched the 2019 readapted Fruits Basket, I felt the same familiarity, the same warmth, and sadness as the 2001 anime. The creators of the anime have done a fabulous job in maintaining the show's atmosphere. It's so awesome that the stories that were left a mystery after the 2001 Fruits Basket are shown so beautifully in the readapted Fruits Basket. Each character is so wonderful but they make me cry so easily. The openings and endings are all so good, never skipped any. Also the music is hauntingly fitting for the anime, it brings up so many emotions. One of my all time favorites, Fruits Basket. Thank you Natsuki Takaya Sensei for this gem.
