Don't understand why so many people are getting touchy if fictional things as portrayed in the series were never part of their all glorious culture. If this is a dystopian fiction, it ought to be treated as such, as a good or bad work of fiction and not as something offensive to any particular culture.
But most people themselves are identifying their culture and present reality with the bad "fictional" things as portrayed in the show. And the scary part is that they are getting defensive about it and blaming the show for pointing them out in the first place.
Bringing out such emotive responses from audiences is what makes this show so good. Hopefully people will grow mature enough to acknowledge, condemn and disown the bad aspects of any culture instead of defending them blindly. 2040s are not that far away!
Eagerly waiting for Season 2.
