I am a resident of Louisville, Kentucky and a regular viewer of your show. I was very disappointed at the poor reporting on your show Monday June 22 about the primary election in Kentucky. The person reporting on the voting situation here was way off base about the voting numbers in Louisville. She reported that there were 600,000 voters in Louisville. In fact the entire population of the city of Louisville is around 600,000, of which twenty-two percent are under 18 and not eligible to vote. And for the first time in Kentucky voters were able to request ballots and vote by mail. Plus, voters have been able to vote early at the polling place. That is a first for Kentucky. While having only one voting place presents a problem to suggest that 600,000 people were going to converge at the one polling place is an egregious distortion.
Furthermore you had a clip of Governor Beshear commenting on the lack of voting places in the state. It made it appear that he was responsible. In fact he was responding in is daily sessions about the status of the corona virus in Kentucky It is a public address and there are reporters there who are free to ask questions. He does not dodge questions. And while he tried to explain why the number of polling places was limited, he indicated that he was not responsible for the decision. However, he did say that he thought that with the mail in voting and early voting it is possible that the turn out across the state will be higher than it has been in the past.
I think you owe it to your viewers to explain how off base the report was. It really left a bad taste in my mouth and has left me wondering about the reliability of reporting on your show in general.
