I have been a fan of the After series ever since it was still new and was based on a Harry Styles fanfic. I think the movie didn't give justice to the book itself. If you really want to enjoy the story of After, I suggest you read the raw and full version on Wattpad.
Ps. I also purchased and read the published book but I still prefer the story from Wattpad.
