Honestly, not that bad. I watched this movie all the time when I was a kid. Heck, I think Sandman was the first villain I genuinely felt sorry for. Even as a kid, I understood why he did what he was doing. A lot of people say he’s an anti-hero, but I disagree. He’s an anti-villain. In case anyone is curious, an anti-villain is a character whose motives are just, but their actions could still be viewed as condemnable. There is only one problem with this movie; Venom. I’m with Sam Raimi on this. Venom also freaked me out when I was a kid. Was it his abnormally sharp teeth and slightly elongated tongue? Was it his murderous personality? Was it the fact that he was an alien who could bring out the dark side of you? Or was it the fact that most of his dialogue was snarling, growling, screeching and hissing? I think it was a combination of all these.
