I am so saddened by the loss of audio from this Shirkers filming. I enjoyed the back story of this intriguing stolen film, but it is very depressing. The movie made me angry for the girls lost time, energy, and money. The film at least brings the life and anger and energy and boredom of the time in Singapore of her friends and familes life while making this film. I was so happy when Sandi Tan asked the musician to just try to replay what he had once written for her movie.
I would personally like to see this movie edited all over again with just the scenery and acting like the old Charlie Chaplin silent films used to be shown but using the just the music from the original music artist.
Eliminate all mention of Georges Cardona, (The Biggest Shirker = quitter, slouch, goldbrick, loafer, idler, bum, deadbeat, good-for-nothing, goof-off, avoider) from this film and Sandi Tan and her friends may be able to find a little more peace.
