Good for people who have difficulty getting past tutorials, because I'm pretty sure the entire game is a tutorial. Pokemon games have been getting worse as a whole, but at least Pokemon Go was refreshing and obviously aimed at an extremely casual gaming experience. With Pokemon Sword/Shield I honestly found myself just bored, so incredibly bored. Every character you meet is just there to explain the obvious and force you forward. The story wasn't even mysterious or interesting, I personally gave up after the fairy gym, but I watched the ending and was so happy I hadn't wasted anymore time. Every time you meet a new character, just guess their role and you're right. I understand Pokemon is for children, but this is a new low. Can you hold a controller? Ok, you win. I could forgive annoying characters and an uninteresting story if at least the mechanics were good - but those are terrible as well. It requires no knowledge or brain power. The design is also lazy and the music was annoying. They removed Pokemon and added nothing from previous games and it's painfully obvious they just don't care anymore.
The one thing this game did well was the Pokemon in their environments, I enjoyed that, you could dodge all of them very easily, but still cute to see them in their little areas. The mini boss battles scattered around were a creative addition as well, I liked that, they were way too easy, but the idea was good.
For very small children, extreme casuals (though I'd recommend Let's Go for them), and intoxicated people this game is playable, otherwise avoid it. Please don't ruin Pokemon Snap... Just keep one aspect of Pokemon good... please?
