Far fetched, clumsy film. We are supposed to believe a grubby little holiday affair behind the husband's back is somehow this wonderful everlasting love. Alan is an obsessed nut job who won't leave a married woman alone. Adultery is OK for him because the husband isn't a nice man; murder is also OK for him to do to steal another's identity because the guy he kills isn't a nice man either. Ella is pathetic and materialistic and we are expected to feel sorry for her when the rest of the world grows up and becomes independent but she needs to stay with her psycho boss husband even after knowing he was responsible for the murder of her lover. Somehow Alan survives a close range bullet to his face and still looks good. But like any sane person would do he doesn't put the worst summer of his life behind him but stays fixated on this troublesome woman and goes back for more disaster. Couldn't the director do any better?
