Absolutely loved the 1st season! So, here’s why I’m done watching the show this season. The 2nd season is no longer about character development, medical accuracy, even slightly realistic scenarios, breaking barriers built by stereotypes, or a good old “underdog surprises all” type of story. The writing is soo lazy and so are the props.. I mean, they’re using Walmart quality baby dolls, that don’t look even a little real, rather than an actual baby as they’ve done before (budget cuts??). The once intriguing medical stories and banter have been replaced by whatever the writers think is most dramatic [SPOILER ALERT.... Ex: Glassman’s “inoperable” cancer, a 200+lbs tumor, almost 1 tumor removal surgery per episode most of which were also deamed “inoperable” typically on the heart or brain. Murphy being removed from surgery by the new chief of surgery on his FIRST DAY and placed in pathology which in reality he couldn’t actually do without consulting the president of the hospital and chief of pathology. And Dr. Han threatening the individuals investigating what occurred during the outbreak.... I could go on.] The writers are attempting to make up for their lazy writing by putting as much chaos into the show as possible to keep people interested until the next episode comes on and then, again, ending that episode in some huge, dramatic, life altering, cliff hanger. I’d rather watch a show that’s story, quality, and character development keep me interested rather than constant chaos.
