Another lifeless action movie. I didn’t read the book, so I can be unbiased in my review, but it is pretty hollow. I was disappointed because Michael B. Jordan is a great actor (evident in Creed, Fruitvale Station, Chronicle) but the line delivery in this movie is just bad. I don’t know if it was the script or the direction, but what a waste of talent. No hate to the actors and actresses. They had the talent. But the direction and the script are just BAD. The action is fine. The story is flawed. Overall the movie is passable. If you’re looking for a fun action movie to watch when you’re bored, this will do fine. If you’re looking for any kind of substance or nuance, look elsewhere.
