I had never heard of this movie, but it seemed worth a look. Then I almost quit because I thought it would be the usual adultery story, but with the genders switched. Then I almost quit because the husband (Gere) was so perfect. But the movie kept surprising me with the unexpected. And at the end I realized it was a well-done remake of Polanski's "Knife in the Water."
