One of the most ridiculous films I’ve ever seen. Involves two people in a light airplane trying to fly it after their pilot has a heart attack. Strangely their auto pilot doesn’t work, their radio doesn’t work properly, their compass stops working, they are low on fuel, but they both manage to climb outside the plane at different times. One fixes a fuel leak, and the other climbs onto the wing and refuels using bottles of rum. Despite the wind speed and the engine noise they can still talk to each other. Absolute garbage.

People really do overthink things. This is a good enjoyable space romp. Yes, there are similarities to other films, but at the end of the day it’s entertainment, and personally I loved it. So, don’t overthink it, just watch, and enjoy the bad guys losing.

A western with grit and realism, but the feel good factor as well. Realistic characters, excellent acting, which is Tom Hanks trade mark and a good, if somewhat unusual, story that flows impeccably to a satisfying conclusion. I loved it.

I think it needs to be watched in it's entirety before anyone makes comments about it. At first I wasn't sure if it would work. By the final episode I was most definitely hooked. I admit some of the characters might be a bit antagonistic, but, it's a drama, and you need conflict to make the story interesting for the viewer. I suppose it could be called a grown up version of star trek. Real people, real conflict and the aliens no one wants to meet. Bring on season 2. 8/10.
