Good in parts but should have had a lot more editing. I appreciate the effort to show the perspective of the indigenous people and their social structures. I just couldn't engage with the characters. Too much chopping and changing seemed to lead to a lack of cohesion in the story. I was somewhat disappointed because I just LOVED 'The Bean Trees' and 'Pigs in Heaven' .
