High mindess is right. A full-throated modern opera about the wealthy, the insecure younger, as well as society's vast problems. All of it intertwined and at times, graphically, and other times, obscure ways.
With a rambling 1st part, it sets the stage. Superficial life. While yes, the symbology in the 2nd part is all there - including sewage erupting on the elite. (this may or may not have been done before) only to really come to a full boil in the 3rd act. With race the central theme gender too.
I enjoyed this recent attempt to reveal all of the 21st centuries problems which only seem to be getting worse.
Which the ending seemingly implies.
