Sub Nine – Google

Watched the film last night after reading 100's of audience reviews, thus expectations were high from so many 5 star reviews. Beginning and end were 5 star...but the middle hour plus was only a 2 for me. Maybe it was expectations, but so much in the middle left me bored and waiting for the next great moment. I did not need the whole performer, rehearsing over and over, etc. That bored me to tears. I will watch again tonight - sometimes the second time around helps as you pick something up that maybe you missed. For now, I rate it a 3.5 on whole on the strength of a great beginning and an even greater ending that promises Smile 3 to be a 2 hour roller coaster ride of horror. Watch this just for the ending - you will not be disappointed!

How can anyone except those who despise scary movies, rate this a one star? Only thing I did not like was the ending, but it was necessary to keep the franchise going. Also did not like the cat scene, so I fast forward through that. Other than that, an immediate classic!!!! I am a horror film fanatic, so when I first saw this on HBO and had never heard of it, I decided to give it a look. Since then I have watched it like 10 more times. And, sorry, this is still better than the sequel (even though the sequel was great - especially the ending!) If you are a fan of horror/scary movies, you have to watch this one! It will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole 2 hours!

Only two movies worse than this (in my subjective opinion......Exorcist: The Heretic & worst of all time, the Odessa file.) Why did they call this 3-D????? It looked like an Atari 2600 video game! They had some great names in the movie, but like Dennis Quaid asks when they mention it, he says "I was in Jaws what?????" Lea Thompson, Louis Gossett - what, were they stone-cold broke???? They should have taken this script and and pulled a D.T. and ripped it up and put it in the toilet! If you are a fan of the Jaws movies, skip this one. Even Jaws the Revenge is better than this laughable horror of a script!

Absolutely one of the worst movies I have ever seen! I think as a sequel, it is the worst ever!!!! How did Richard Burton ever agree the this monstrosity of a script (if you can call it that???) $$$$$$ was the only reason. And Louise Fletcher went from nurse Ratchett in Cookoos Nest to this????? James Earl Jones?????? I could make heads nor tales of any of the storyline as it was so stupid you just kept hoping for anything even close to the original. Did not happen. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME - REALLY!!!!! I still rue the decision to waste an hour and 58 minutes of my life for this joke!!!!!!!!

Everybody needs to remember - the 1973 film "The Exorcist" was simply the best film ever made (I know that is subjective....so I will say horror film, although my opinion is it is the best film of any kind I ever saw!) So keeping that in mind, we need to separately rate "Believers" on it's own merits. Green is good at this and began the trilogy with a fantastic 1st episode. Taking this on was an impossible task, but he did it anyway. Let us give him credit for that. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and look forward to the next two. I also had to separate his trilogy Halloween movies from the original - none will ever equal the 1978 masterpiece, so it is good to watch realizing that from the beginning. Then, you can enjoy them as a separate entity. If you like horror films, this is not a waste of time. If you are looking for something better that the original, then you are wasting your time. It can never happen! Go and watch with an open mind. Oh - Exorcist III with George C. Scott is vastly underrated! If you have not seen it, by all means, put on you list for this Halloween holiday season.
