Entertaining if totally unbelievable. I went to the showing with subtitles by mistake and was highly amused by the captions eg sentimental / serious/ tense / rousing / pensive / thoughtful / scary / etc MUSIC was shown to describe what as playing (and possible to tell you how you should react or how the actors were reacting to the current scene). I have been struggling to find movies I want to watch this year (too many animations and kids themes) and I wasn't bored with this one

I like films which entertain and this one was boring. No real plot, poor attention to detail, unbelievable sequences, and if it was a prequel then I still have no understanding of the invaders. Thought the sound track and staging excellent but not a compensation. This film might satisfy pseudo intellects who like to analyse and pontificate about meanings, but I would advise you not to waste your time or money

Enjoyed most of the music. Learned a lot about Aretha (hope it was true and not for effect) Thought it jumped about too much - was disjointed at times. Jennifer Hudson was great. No idea why some was shot in sepia. They should have cut about 30 mins. Probably enjoyed the credits with Aretha herself singing the most.

Hugh Grant can act - always thought he played himself (posh buffoon)

I had forgotten about this aspect to the Iraq War. Ienjoyed the film but I now despair of politicians even more. I bet Tony Blair won't like it but he, Bush, and Powell deserve to be exposed (again)
