The usual formula for making slice of life dramas feels very common and oversaturated in a lot of streaming shows nowadays where you can see clearly the absence of passion. I'm happy to say that
The Bear pleasantly surprised me in that regard. I've never been much of an enthusiast about watching dime a dozen dramas but this show is so well put together to the point where you actually feel like you're in a real heavily busy kitchen with real flesh and blood people. I almost teared up at the season 1 finale because it feels so brutal and honest when it talks about real issues like drug addiction or suicide. I came because I loved Jeremy White's performance and character he brought to Shameless but I stayed because the whole cast is clearly giving it their all and it shows very clearly how everyone develops into a family by the end. Absolutely loved what this first season brought and man I cannot wait to see more.
