I really enjoyed this film. It's quite different to anything I've seen before overall and becomes very emotional as the story unfolds leading you down one of those twisted endings that I didn't see coming. At all. At first you'll pick up on tributes or references to other films such as Close Encounters which are quite well done. Then the story veers into an altogether different path. I especially loved the play with light and the contrasting black and white/colour scenes presented in unison, as well as throughout. Also, it's more emotional than you expect. Spiritual also comes to mind, in parts. The music was well-written enhancing the story in all the right places. The acting, directing and cinematography were all excellent also. Most of all, I enjoyed it because it was different which is surely a challenge these days. You won't think so at first but relax as it unfolds before you. It may not appeal to the regular sci-fi enthusiast. I think it would suit audiences that enjoy a bit of supernatural, dystopia and drama. It isn't at all scary or gory so if that's what you're after, this film won't be for you. Looking forward to more from this very promising writer/director team.

A bit silly when you have seen this same story a myriad of ways already. If you've never seen a demon child before it might grab you. Still good actors kept me interested and waiting to discover why these people bore their demon child which sadly never came to fruition. I'd give it 2.5/5, only watch at home and best suited to teenagers.

This is the second movie by Benson and Moorhead I have watched and loved, the first being The Endless. They wrote and directed both films which are well executed, written and acted with unique twists on rehashed topics. The acting in this film, particularly from Anthony Mackie was absolutely outstanding. This is the best film I have seen in a long time, probably since....The Endless! Can't wait to see what they offer next.

***NO SPOILERS***This is by far the best TV show I have ever seen in my 55 years. It is so clever. It might seem to start slow or even seem to be designed for a teenage market only at first but perservere. It will take you on an incredible journey of creative twists and unexpected turns. The kind of series you can watch over and over and never stop discovering angles you previously missed. This is an overall review of the entire three series. The cast, the cinematography and direction are exceptional. However, the storyline is unbelievable. So expertly written. I can't believe it's possible to write such complex subjects so eloquently. Just amazing. The outstanding soundtrack also deserves a special mention. Watch it!

I really perservered with this and watched the entire series although nothing improved. The storyline is thin. It isn't a patch on the original film. The voices of the possessed just aren't very effective in creating true horror/fear. Cliched effects which are done reasonably well but lack imagination. It gets a two for quality acting and visual effects but otherwise a complete waste of time.
