Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga captures the hopeless terrain of physical , emotional, and spiritual existence in the revamping of society after its self destruction. The monstrocities that exist are not new to humankind, just magnified. The lot of women is reduced to procreating, or becoming a milk maid. Men are seen painfully feeding their appetites for power and greed. The inspiration and true inward emotional strength comes from a young girl who painfully watches her mother tortured and slowly killed. Instead of giving up the young child is resilient and never forgets the seed, literally and figuratively speaking that was given to her by her mother. She rises up from the depths of despair to become a powerful warrior who does not forget those who showed kindness, she is just and true in her reckoning. Even though the landscape was depressing the outcome displayed amazing recilience and perseverance, and strangely enough leaving me feeling empowered and hopeful.
