This book has been very helpful while doing research for some background material for my own novel The Maharajagar, although a lot of material that is used into it originates from William Sleeman, who wrote three books published around 1850 about the Thugs: Ramaseeana, or a Vocabulary of the peculiar language used by Thugs; Report on the Depredations Committed by the Thug Gangs of Upper and Central India; and The Thugs or Phansigars of India.
