First, It is ridiculous and insulting to make a DOCUMENTARY about Egyptian history and EXCLUDE Egyptian historians. For same folks who scream FACT CHECK all day on TV, please fact check this "documentary". Even the narrative is stupid and silly.
And I wanna say something important here. To claim that because Egypt is in Africa, every Egyptian is by default black (sub saharan Africa) is both HISTORICALLY and SCIENTIFICALLY wrong (based on DNA) and implies deep unconscious bias and racism (some folks in America think Africa is one country and they dare lecture Africans themselves about their own identity).
A little history lesson: North Africa has its indigenous people (Amazigh, Libyans, berber) who are NOT west African and while these indigenous people have mixed with variety of other ethnicities (like west African people, European people , turks, etc) over THOUSANDS of years of civilization, it is ignorant and offensive to reduce this cultural diversity to one group.
Finally, I am sure there are great historical figures of west and sub-saharan African civilization whose stories were left untold but Cleopatra is not one of them. If you want REAL representation of people of color (Egyptians btw are people of color and are very underrepresented in Hollywood ), Please make a documentary about those people accurately and with good faith instead of falsifying history.
