This is probably the best game I’ve ever played. It was so satisfying to see some of my favorite characters show up in various forms. I did not expect this game to surprise me, but it did, many times. Everything is stellar, from just swinging and gliding around New York, to squaring off against a multitude of classic Spider-Man villains. So much story left to tell here. *********** SPOILERS *********** I love how this game handled the symbiotes, seemingly seeming up Carnage and possibly even Knull for future games. Honestly I’m fully blown away by the amazing main missions and storyline. Getting to play as Spider-Symbiote, Venom himself, and Anti-Venom was so incredibly satisfying and amazing. By the final fight I was having the time of my life. To Marvel/Sony/Insomniac, I’m personally not super excited at the prospect of Silk. That’s just me though and I’m sure it will still be great, but here is what I really want to see in future games. I love the idea of a Venom spinoff above all else. Nothing would make me happier than to have a game like this with Venom headlining. I would love to see/play as Agent Venom and/or Agent Anti-Venom. I would love to see an entire Venom franchise launch alongside (and interconnected with) the Spider-Man games, and ideally I would be prefer the Venom games to be more R (M) rated and have more graphic violence and maybe Knull could be the big bad of the Venom games (or the big bad of a collaboration of all venom/spider men and women). The other thing I would love is to see more Marvel heroes dispersed throughout the Spider/Venom games. It would make a lot of sense to bring in characters like Daredevil (and being able to play as him would be incredible), Luke Cage, Wolverine, Deadpool, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Captain America and the Hulk. Even if you could only play a couple missions as characters like Deadpool and Daredevil, it would be great. Just having them all present in the game would be ideal. They could show up to crimes and fight alongside the Spider-Men and Spider-Women, in the same way that wraith does in this game. There’s clearly also potential for a “Spider-verse story to be told maybe in side missions even. Anyway, sorry for the extremely long review but I do hope Sony and Insomniac see this somehow and I want to congratulate them on what I consider to easily be the game of the year, if not the best game ever made. Thank you for your hard work and for making a 38 year old feel like a kid again.
