Ok where do I start? Disclaimer: I have read the book which I feel can sometimes create high expectations for a movie, despite the fact that the movie almost never turns out as good as the book. That was the case for this movie, which is not to say that it isn't good, it just definetly wasn't as good as the book. First off, the acting is stellar all around, being especially true for Rachel Zegler who actually emobodies the role of Lucy Gray. I don't know who else could've played her better, but Rachel's confident charm and absolutely breathtaking voice made her perfect for the role. She absolutely rocked her singing scenes where she was able to convey distress or happiness while hitting all the octaves. Peter Dinklage as always stole every scene he was in, always carrying a certain gusto that is just absolutely invigorating to watch and sucks you into his scenes. Viola Davis appears to be having an absolute blast in her role playing a deranged mad scientist. I believe the acting was all around good, ranging to even great, but the writing and directing may have held them back. I believe this is especially true for Snow, who we know from the original movies as a psychotic dictator who has no mercy...
