I recently completed the Arkham game trilogy while eagerly anticipating Suicide Squad. These games set a high standard for superhero gaming, immersing players in the captivating lore of Gotham as Batman.
Upon diving into Suicide Squad - Kill the Justice League (SSKTJL), it's evident that it deviates from the Arkham formula. Despite sharing the same universe, SSKTJL offers a distinct perspective with an engaging yet less developed storyline and somewhat repetitive game mechanics. Despite the critics' concerns, approaching it with a fresh mindset reveals an enjoyable shooter, allowing players to go up against their favorite superheroes through a diverse and customizable lineup of villains.
While the disappointment over Batman's portrayal and Kevin Conroy's final performance lingers, giving SSKTJL a chance unveils its potential for fun, with the promise of future DLC improving the overall gaming experience. Acknowledging the outcry against WB's focus on live service, we shouldn't let this game falter; instead, we can hope for a turnaround akin to Cyberpunk's redemption, ultimately leading to a DC game that rivals the excellence of the Arkham series.
