I'm holding these creators to a ridiculously high standard, because their previous work, The OA, was the best thing I've ever seen on screen. This work is quite different. Interesting script and cinematography, great acting, music and locations...but it may be trying to do too much. Some reviews are saying the show moves too slow, but I would say it's guilty of moving too fast. Sooo much is happening in the present day! However, I find the flashbacks very powerful and atmospheric, and the story does indeed keep you hooked. I do think the creators need to be careful not to get preachy about some of the issues they are tackling. I look forward to seeing more of their work.
