This book is utterly racist, instead of continuing the message that everyone is different and we must celebrate ourselves it shames all white people and blames racism on white people only, some of the facts it’s states are inaccurate, racism exists amongst all races whereas this book is trying to indoctrinate children into thinking that only white people can be racist. The book started off really good and ended well but the page that reads “racism started a long time ago when white people wanted more control over people who were not white”. No one person alive today is responsible for the actions of our ancestors, history is just that, it’s in the past and those that took part in slavery are all gone now. You don’t punish the son for the sins of his father but it’s books like this one that’s teaching children white people should be ashamed of who they are, yet the message in this book is supposed to be celebrating our differences?
