My daughter introduced me to this show and didn't tell me a thing about it before we started watching. I am so pleased that was the case. What started as an amusing comedy set on a pirate ship gradually became one of the most beautiful depictions I have ever seen of two people falling in love. There are certainly many smiles, but there are also raw, emotional moments that are incredibly moving. The writing is phenomenal. The characterisations - including of neurodiversity, trauma and mental health, are simply superb. The chemistry between all of the ensemble, but particularly the two leads, is out of this world. All the characters are so well written and wonderfully acted. The sets, the costumes, the music - everything combines to make this an incredibly special show. I have rewatched both seasons more than I'd like to admit and still find things that are new. This is a truly special show that really deserved at least one more season.
