Three Daughters of Eve
Finished this fictional piece of writing by Elif Shafak. I always loved to read her novels. She writes about mystical ineffable experiences of characters.
The story has three characters; Shirin, Mona and Peri. Peri is the main character of the novel who is in search of God and the writer posits hia confused state through out the novel. Mona is staunch religous where as Shirin is sinner and liberal. All three attend the class on God, taught by Azur, who is professor of theology and philosophy.
Inside of the novel is very profound and mind opening accentuating the inquisition about God. Some people, when face miseries, they start thinking that why God is not helping them, why people face miseries and few become athiest to the idea of God. But somepeople take it as probation, endure pain with patience. Indeed Allah will give reward on doomsday for our every endurance of pain.
The quest to find the God is not bed of roses. But only those can find him, who search for him. Those enlightened by the God can see the vestiges of God in every natural thing.
The end of novel is somewhat convoluted with scattered conclusion. Peri, the main character is still seems confused. I highly appreciate this novel.
Thanks.
