Sometimes superhero shows/movies have too much action but not enough storyline. Then there are those that find the right balance. The CW has never done this well. EVERYONE is pretty. There is superficial diversity, but the nonwhite characters aren't culturally different, nor are the LGBTQ characters. To be fair, it IS a good thing that they are represented, but it never feels authentic. In fact, nothing on the CW Arrowverse ever felt authentic to me, and it's not because of the actors. I know a superhero series or movie is unrealistic by its nature, but the human aspects always seemed forced to me. I'm glad that Kara didn't wind up with Lena, not because I have a problem with same sex relationships, but because it would have been so...CW...predictable. I used to call Smallville "Dawson's Creek goes to Krypton". I don't need the plot to be believable, but I do need the characters to be. Someone needs to make a superhero series that has authentic humans with costumes and powers, rather than another teen drama with tokenism and cheeseball dialogue.
