I've really enjoyed watching "Anne with an E". This series offers intelligence, loyal friendship, imagination and creativity used to solve problems. Strong characters make difficult choices to follow their passions instead of succumbing to the pressure of the older generation's ideas of what one should do or be. Abuse, enslaved type labor, are endured as a better future is planned for. Hardship and heart break, are tragically experienced, but the community comes together in support. Gossip, bullying, prejudice and hypocrisy are definitely intertwined, yet open mindedness, perseverance, determination to move forward plus a willingness to learn and change prevail. This, in contrast to the extreme foul language, annoying laugh tracks rampant sexual scenes, and dark plots of many other choices available on Netflix today, makes "Anne" a stand out and very refreshing.
