I’m so glad I waited until it was on disney+ to watch this. It felt like no one put any passion into this and everyone was not getting paid enough. The acting was not as to be expected considering the cast, the special effects were horrible and it was as boring and soulless as can be, not to mention the boring soundtrack and extremely fast pacing. It felt like a TV movie. It’s like the Fast and Furious, I don’t know why people keep accepting these types of movies and pass it up as good fun and great filmmaking. It’s about as cheap and commercialized as you can get with no return on investment for your time and money. It wasn’t even funny, not a single joke landed and they tried to have emotional moments that felt shallow. The only reason I’m giving it two stars is for Darren the big floaty head guy, that’s the only thing I found funny or enjoyable about the entire movie.

If you really want a good movie about forging your own destiny, look at Across the spiderverse. Barbie, like a lot of movies today, made me wish for another top gun. Not just because planes and guns go brr but because it was a good movie for the sake of entertainment. Didn’t need to say a thing about anything. If you really want to pass the message on that life is what it is and being yourself, don’t muddy the water with telling people how it is, or should or shouldn’t be. I liked the movie, but in my eyes it fell hard cuz it fed in to that. (This is my comment from Charlie’s Moist Meter video.)
